Children
and young persons
What
you can do if you are
a child or a young person:
- Learn why violence is harmful
and unacceptable and spread the word.
- Learn how to recognize different forms of
violence against children and young people.
- Find out where you can report violence if
you ever become a victim, or if it happens to
any of your friends or neighbours.
- Learn how to protect yourself from abuse and
harm and recognize risky situations that you
can prevent or avoid.
- Speak up about violence that you have experienced
or have witnessed being inflicted on other children
and young people, so that they can be properly
protected or helped.
- Take an active part in different activities
for children and young people to prevent and
stop violence against girls and boys.
- Remind adults of their responsibility to protect
children from violence and call them to account
if they don’t act.
- Be a role model. Make a personal commitment
to create non-violent environment for you and
your peers.
